Strict measures are taken to control the hygiene of this lagoon as the visitors are advised to shower before and after the visit. The water is changed every second day in addition to the task of hygiene.

To the south of Iceland you can find another major attraction, namely the Golden Circle. This tectonic rift valley at Thingvellir National Park is a major tourist attraction and a mandatory destination while on your International holiday.  You have to visit the majestic Gullfoss waterfall and the enthralling hot springs at Haukadalur.
